Every Thursday Evening will resume in September!
What is this?
Every Thursday Evening Between 6 and 8 is an experiment in coffeehouse programming. What if there were a channel that was on once a week for two hours, not on tv or YouTube, but in real life? That's what we're proposing. And we're going way beyond music! We're interested in fostering other types of engagement... music, culture, ideas & innovation.
1st Thursday: Songwriter Showcase with Seth Raddatz and Marybeth Mattson
A continuation of a series Adam Mackintosh ran at Kavarna 1.0 last decade, Songwriter Showcase is an opportunity for musicians to present their original songs in a supportive atmosphere. Sign up is first come first serve and opens about an hour prior to showtime. The Showcase is open to anything you care to present, so long as it's yours. So bring your tuba and looping pedal, turntables, acoustic guitar, ukuleles, etc. and get started.
3/1 • 4/5 • 5/3
2nd Thursday: Soapbox Talks with UWGB CAHSS Faculty
With the support of UWGB's College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, we are presenting a series of talks with UWGB faculty. Many topics will be covered, our only criteria is that it be relevant and interesting!
3/8 (Derek Jeffreys) • 4/12 • 5/10
3rd Thursday: The Mark Becker and Tom Sieber Show
They're Brown County Supervisors, they're former county chairs of the Republican and Democratic parties, but most of all they're friends. Come here Mark and Tom shoot the breeze on local and national politics and interview local community figures.
3/15 • 5/17 (Please note that 4/19 will be skipped for UntitledTown.)
4th Thursday: New Ideas with Megan Dickman
Our friend Megan Dickman (from Crystal Clear Resources) will be presenting a series of talks by figures from the business and non-profit sectors. They'll speak to innovation and challenges in their fields.
